La Parisienne is a truly feminine beret knit from worsted weight yarn. It features a well–defined twisted ribbing and simple stockinette stitch body adorned by a 9-point spiral decrease. La Parisienne is quick to knit and can be completed in an evening or two.

SIZE(S):
Hat fits an adult head size of approx 22” – 23.5” (55.9 cm – 59.7 cm). Blocked hat diameter approx 11” (28 cm). Blocked hat height approx 9.25“ (23.5 cm). See Pattern Tips and Suggestions for sizing changes.
CHARTED/WRITTEN:
The pattern includes complete written row by row instructions. It is NOT charted.
GAUGE:
Using larger-sized needles, 22 stitches/30 rounds to 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) in stockinette stitch, blocked.
La Parisienne is worked in the round from the ribbing up.
To work this pattern, you will need to know:
- Knit and purl stitches
- Knitting in the round
- Increase and decrease stitches – KFB, K2TOG
- Twisted stitches – KTBL
- Slipping stitches
YARN:
Allow approx 168 yds (154 m) worsted weight yarn.
A worsted weight yarn with good stitch definition and little to no halo is recommended.
NEEDLES:
US 7 (4.5 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular needle or dpns
US 8 (5 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular needle or dpns
Or any size needed to obtain correct gauge.
